Mrs. McCoy’s Forensic Science students used interactive calculators funded by a Leighty Grant from First State Bank to simulate decomposition rates under various weather conditions. This simulation lab integrating the life stages of maggots and blowflies helped students identify a hypothetical "John Doe," showcasing real-world forensic techniques. #tongienation #usd464

THS boys golf had a good day at Sycamore Ridge Golf Course. The boys participated in two events at Sycamore: the Spring Hill Invitational and the league tourney. There were 22 teams in the Invitational and the boys took 6th; they placed 2nd in the league tourney against the 8 league teams.  Gavin Reischman led the way with a 6th place individually and shot a personal best 78.  Right behind him was Luke McRae with a personal best of 79 and 8th place in league.  Also having a solid day was Zac Fisher with an 83.  The team shot a season low score of 331 and finished behind Spring Hill.  The boys will be back in action on Monday at Falcon Lakes in the Bobcat Invitational. #tongienation #usd464

Chemistry got a major upgrade! Mrs. McCoy's students have been using their new virtual lab calculators (thanks to a Pete & Margaret Leighty Trust Grant from First State Bank 🙌)! They loved being able to hold the lab simulation and visualize the content. #tongienation #usd464

The THS JV boys golf team had a great week. They went to two tournaments and recorded one win and one second place. The boys first headed to Sunflower Hills to compete in an 18 hole tourney on Monday, battling the wind and taking first place.  William Dohrn had a great day, taking 2nd as an individual with 86 and leading the way for the team's 1st place finish.  Also having a solid day was Carson Heffel with a score of 90.  Other team members supporting the win were Owen Heffel, Grant Edwards, Mark Geiger, and Weston Haas, showing a glimpse of what the future will look like for the program. The boys returned to action on Wednesday at Burning Tree, where they got to play a fun scramble format.  Two three-man teams attended, with Team Heffel squared and Dohrn taking 2nd with a salty -2 score for the nine holes.  These boys will be back in action on Tuesday at Osawatomie.  Thank you for your support! #tongienation #usd464
