Our FCCLA chapter kicked off Day 1 of Nationals in Orlando, Florida, with over 10,000 other members. Students attended the opening session, where they received recognition for their Lead4Change project and placing second in the Safe Rides Save Lives PSA contest. THS athletes recently competed in three relay events at the State Track Meet. All-State honors went to the 4x800m boys relay team comprised of Jett Gilmore, Solomon Carter, Jack Reischman, and Parker Welsh. Both boys and girls 4x100m relay teams competed as well. Boys team members were Tanner Hand, Kendall Smith, Hunter Nihart, and Todd Brown. Girls team members were Reece Schmidt, Ashlyn Brune, Addy Schooler, and Khrisalyn Wright. Beatty Field will be closed for track resurfacing from Thursday, June 19 through Sunday, July 6. It will reopen on Monday, July 7.

THS athletes recently competed in several individual running events at the State Track Meet. All-State honors went to seniors Solomon Carter in the 800m (3rd) and Todd Brown in the 100m dash (8th), bringing career total All-State medals to seven for Carter and three for Brown. Brown also competed in the 200m dash, Kara Johnson in the 800m run, Elijah Holthaus in the 300m hurdles, and Reece Schmidt in both the 100m and 200m dash events. THS athletes competed in several field events last month at the State Track Meet, held annually at Cessna Stadium at Wichita State University. All-State honors went to Addy Schooler and Tucker McGuire for their decisive wins in the 4A discus throw, Adlen Johnson on shot put (6th place) and Reece Schmidt on high jump (7th place).
