Pink Out Friday is coming! This Friday, our Chieftain varsity football team will take on Basehor-Linwood, and we’re turning the stadium pink in support of breast cancer awareness! Catch a special halftime performance from our THS Cheerleaders and their mini cheer crew. All THS students get in free, courtesy of Brothers Market. Mrs. McCoy is our next Transformative Teacher at THS! Mrs. McQueen selected Mrs. McCoy because she challenges students to think critically, builds a collaborative learning environment for students, and makes learning relevant. Mrs. McCoy also sponsors Student Council and does an incredible job teaching students to lead and take pride in their school. Congratulations Mrs. McCoy!

THS and the Leavenworth County Workforce Partnership hosted a job fair in Chieftain Arena on Wednesday. THS students were able to talk to local businesses and explore career opportunities. Thank you to Evergy, First State Bank, and Great Wolf Lodge for spending some extra time at the end speaking to our seniors about important employability skills.

Thank you to the United States Army for bringing their DUNK Distracted Driving presentation to THS. We witnessed some incredible, high-flying dunks, but more importantly, we heard a powerful message about putting cell phones down and focusing on the road while driving.

Yesterday the Success Center had the opportunity to tour KCKCC Tech. THS is allied with both KCKCC and Washburn's technical education campuses. Students have an opportunity to gain some post-secondary training prior to graduation on the school's dime. It is a great way for kids to get a jumpstart on their careers!

The FCCLA Officer Team attended District Kick Off to work on this year's plans, goals, and activities. The district officers led the event, with Kalea Baldock, Lila Carlton, and Josie Roe all hosting Red Talks and team building for district members. Tonganoxie hosted a community service session making emergency hygiene and food bags for each FCCLA chapter to take back for those in need within their own schools or communities. #fccla #tongienation #usd464
