Last Friday, we had the chance to celebrate our senior athletes from Football, Cross Country, Girls Golf, and Unified Bowling! Each senior was escorted by their parents and had the opportunity to thank a staff member who’s made an impact during their time at THS.

A special shoutout to student photographer Lilianna Sallaz Helm for capturing these awesome moments!

We’re so proud of our seniors for their commitment, leadership, and heart. It’s been such a joy watching you grow, and we can’t wait to see all the great things you’ll do next! #tongienation #chieftainpride #seniornight

FCCLA District E-East chapters from Tonganoxie and Basehor-Linwood came together for two good causes on Friday during the "8 Mile Showdown" football game. Students promoted World Mental Health Day to help bring awareness to mental health issues and reduce stigma. Students also held a Pink Out for breast cancer. Chapter members from both schools handed out pins, bracelets, and other items to support both causes. This event brought both teams together for a positive impact on the community.

THS students attended a mock car crash and an assembly featuring Think First this week. The mock car crash helped students experience a realistic, visual, and emotional demonstration of the tragic consequences of dangerous driving behaviors. Speakers from Think First shared their personal stories about car accidents. FCCLA and SADD members are working to educate their peers on safe driving habits. Thank you to all of the local police, fire, and emergency services for being part of this powerful message. #SAFE #teensinthedriverseat
