On March 27, 2023, the Tonganoxie USD 464 Board of Education approved the appointment of Calesta Blazo as the 2023-2024 lead principal at Tonganoxie Elementary School, where she has served as an assistant principal for the last five years.

Mrs. Blazo has over sixteen years of experience in education. Prior to moving into an administrative role, she was a substitute teacher, paraprofessional, and classroom teacher in both Tennessee and Kansas, where she taught and worked with every grade level from kindergarten to fifth. She received her teaching certification from Western Governors University in 2010 and her Master of Science in School Leadership from Baker University in 2016.

“We are delighted to have someone with Mrs. Blazo’s experience and dedication leading TES next year,” Superintendent Loren Feldkamp said. “She has been invaluable during her last five years as assistant principal, and her experience, leadership qualities, and optimism for the future make her well-suited to take on the lead principal role.”

“I am excited and honored to serve as the lead principal for TES next year,” Mrs. Blazo said.  “I look forward to supporting our staff, students, families and the community in my new role and furthering the continued success of TES.”
