LSLC members sit in chairs in a conference room. Loren Feldkamp stands at the front speaking to them

On February 8, USD 464 hosted Leadership Southern Leavenworth County, an area organization that gathers citizens from different generations and perspectives to learn about leadership, Leavenworth County and themselves. The sessions meet monthly from September to May, with an emphasis on various leadership competencies. Not just a classroom experience, LSLC travels to see government in action in Topeka, tours the county seat in Leavenworth and visits Fort Leavenworth and local school districts.

The theme for the day was "Leadership in Action." Representatives from USD 464, McCownGordon, and Eskie and Associates spoke about the leadership involved in the district's bond project, from pre-planning to completion and beyond. Attendees also had the opportunity to tour the new high school facilities. The day concluded with a question and answer session with local superintendents Loren Feldkamp (USD 464), Doug Powers (USD 458), and Dan Wessel (USD 469).
