Our amazingly talented artists got a chance to show off their work at TES Fine Arts Night! Thank you to Mrs. Lawson and Mrs. Dombeck for putting on such a spectacular event! #tongienation #usd464

Fine Arts Night Success! Our artists were great and they really drew a crowd. Thank you to everyone who came out to see all of the amazing artwork our students created this year! We’d also like to thank those who helped throughout the day, after school, during the event, and with clean up.
It’s not too late to purchase your student's framed art. The virtual show will remain open through April 21, so snag that framed art while you can. (Framed artwork makes a perfect Mother’s Day gift!) The TES art program receives a portion of the proceeds from the framed art purchases. Thank you for supporting the TES art program!

Congratulations to our incredible TES social worker Shelby Burnett! Shelby was recently named the 2024 Kansas School Social Worker of the Year! Well deserved, Mrs. Burnett! We're so proud of you! #tongienation #usd464

Kindergarten finished up their CKLA unit on colonial towns and townspeople. They learned all about various tradespeople. As a culminating activity, Mrs. Sparks’ students created paper plushies. Students chose a design and colored it, sewed it together using yarn, and filled it with stuffing. They were so proud of their finished products! #tongienation #usd464

Roaring into MAP testing like never before! 🦖📚 Second graders are dino-mite as they prep for assessments, having transformed their hallway into a Jurassic adventure! #tongienation #usd464

Rambo, Phyllis Diller, Holly, and Lani were our special guests yesterday! Some happy fifth graders had the opportunity to read to these sweet dogs from Human Animal Bond Therapy Pets of Leavenworth. We look forward to one more visit from our furry friends before the end of the school year in May! 🐶🐶🐶 #tongienation #usd464

Fifth graders in Mrs. Maize’s and Ms. Smith’s classes wrapped up their Peep Adoption week with a demonstration from Dr. Sarah Maddox-Schmitt from Wolf Creek Veterinary Clinic! Students first observed Dr. Maddox perform an extraction on Cadbury the Bunny after she ate some Lego. Dr. Maddox concluded her visit by treating Peeps who wanted a vaccination of colored sugar water. (No Peeps were harmed during her demonstration.) 🐥🐥🐥 #tongienation #usd464

Mrs. Coia's students learned about three dimensional shapes by creating their own! #tongienation #usd464

Ms. Carr's fourth graders had a Mystery Reader today! Ms. Carr's fiancé came to class and read stories from The Stinky Cheese Man. 👃🧀🏃♂️ #tongienation #usd464

Mrs. Schrant's first graders have spent the last two weeks learning about different habitats and how animals have adapted to those habitats. Over the last two days, they tested bird beak adaptations using various utensils to simulate different shapes and sizes of beaks. They tested the utensil beaks on different bird “foods” and used those results to draw conclusions about what types of birds eat what foods. It was fun to watch them make predictions, work together, and use all the information to learn new things! #tongienation #usd464

Students in Ms. Kim's afternoon preschool class worked on counting to 20 by making 20 mattresses and feather beds for the Princess and the Pea! #tongienation #usd464
