Three Tonganoxie students will compete in the Amateur Athletic Union Track & Field Junior Olympics this weekend! To qualify, they attended several area track meets as well as a regional meet in Oklahoma City.
Parker Welsh is a rising freshman at Tonganoxie High School. He will compete in the 400m, 800m, 1500m, and 4x800 relay.
Sydney Kirchoff is also a rising freshman at Tonganoxie High School. She will compete in both the long jump and the pentathlon. The pentathlon is a multi-event contest comprised of the 100m hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot put, and 800m run.
Arabella McNeely is entering eighth grade at Tonganoxie Middle School. She will compete in the 4x400 relay.
The AAU Track & Field Junior Olympics are slated for July 29th to August 5th in Des Moines, Iowa.
