Mr. Harrell’s debate students are already busy preparing for the new season! The national policy debate topic for 2025–26 is: “The United States federal government should significantly increase its exploration and/or development of the Arctic.” Students will explore issues like natural resources, climate change, the involvement of Indigenous communities, and the Arctic’s importance to world powers such as Russia and China. This week, they practiced speaker drills to sharpen their delivery skills and build confidence. The team will hit the road on September 20th, taking their talents to Bishop Miege for the first tournament of the year.
