Kansas school social workers wearing white name tags and business casual attire gather together in a hallway of the capital building

On January 31, TES clinical social worker Shelby Burnett attended School Mental Health Advocacy Day in Topeka. During this annual program, school mental health providers from Kansas gather to collaborate, consult, and advocate for the mental health needs of students. Shelby was an instrumental part of this event, acting in a leadership role on the planning team.

She also had the opportunity to meet with our local representatives, Representative Tim Johnson and Representative Lance Neelly, about creating legislation that would provide guidance for school social workers and title protection.

We are proud of Mrs. Burnett for advocating for our students and being a force for good!
