I am the Health Education instructor for all K-5th grade students at TES.  I love teaching about health, and feel so blessed to be teaching here in Tonganoxie.  I started working for USD 464 in 2004 after moving here from Dublin, Ohio in 2003.  Over the years, I have taught health and/or PE in every school building in the district.  I was raised on a large dairy farm in SE Michigan, and was very active on the farm.  I attended Spring Arbor University, where I played softball and basketball, and graduated summa cum laude with a major in PE/Health and a minor in biology.  My husband and I have been married 32 yrs and we have 4 grown children and 3 grandchildren (so far).  Due to my husband's careers (Army officer and plant manager), we have moved 11 times.  I took about 14 yrs off teaching while raising our family.  During my teaching career, I have taught K-12 health, PE, biology, and physical science, and have coached varsity girls' basketball, soccer, and softball.  I was selected as the KAHPERD (Kansas Assoc of Health, PE, Recreation, & Dance) "Health Teacher of the Year" in 2013, and was named the 2014 SHAPE America 9-state Central District "Health Teacher of the Year".
