I grew up in Lawrence Kansas. I have four wonderful children. They are all married. I have seven beautiful, intelligent grandchildren. I have three siblings and lots of nieces and nephews. Most of them live close. My hobby is flower gardening. I’m active in my church. I help with the children’s program and sing in the choir.
I received my undergraduate degrees from Anderson University in Indiana and my post graduate degrees from Pittsburg State University in Kansas. My training has been in Early Childhood Education, Christian Education, Elementary Education, Special Education and Reading.
I have taught every grade level in general education from preschool to grade five. I have taught every grade level in Special Education from Kindergarten to grade eight.
I have been teaching in Tonganoxie since 2011. This year I will be teaching primarily sixth grade special education. I will be teaching a direct reading class and a direct math class. I will be providing support in several general education classrooms.
I will be supporting general education teachers and helping my students meet their IEP goals.

Ms. Crady teaches two direct 6th grade special education classes. One is Direct Reading and the other is Direct Math. Ms. Crady also teaches in inclusion classes. She rotates between two subjects each hour, depending upon the needs each day.
My direct language arts class is a reading class for special education students with direct reading on their ieps. On Monday, Wednesday & Friday, the three special education teachers teach a program called Language Exclamation. These classes have mixed grade level students. They are grouped according to the skills they need to work on. This program is a well balance program including phonics, reading fluency, comprehension & vocabulary.
On Tuesday and Thursday, all students meet with their grade level special education teacher. Students are instructed relating to their specific grade level needs. They will be using the computerized program called i-stations once a week & studying the vocabulary for the week from there general education language arts and literature classes. They will also be working on their iep goals.
My direct math class is for students with direct math on their ieps. In this class students will be given an opportunity to practice missing math skills required to succeed in their general education classrooms. Students will be retaught concepts that were taught in their general education math class. Students will also work on their iep goals.
